In-Game Designs!

I would like to thank everyone that worked on the Eclipse project with me :) and especially those who featured their work ingame. you guys have been a simply spectacular team!
i heard some AWESOME stuff today about the game.. they were extremely impressed, this has quite possibly been the most sucessful project yet, and i think we should be Damn proud!

there (as always) were some errors and content that was not implemented in the end, but we got alot of it in, and it was Alot by comparison to the earlier projects.
i will be seeing about a revised version with some of these errors fixxed and a little more implemented, and then ill be seeing about oraganising you coppies if we can ;)

Update time :)

Hey everyone! i hope your holidays were all nice and relaxing, mine were.. kinda. but i hope yours were! :P

here are some small updates i figured i'd share. i am looking forward to seeing what you have all gotten upto in the past week :)
we will be moving onto our next tasks on monday :D
so if you havent finnished your creature's geometry, unwrap and rigging (diploma) or you havent finnished your geometry and unwrap (cert 4) then HURRY UP! because they are due, and after 10 weeks im sure that should be more then reasonable.

anyways, on to other goss :)
here are some of the more pretty things i have done working over the break:

game icon design, featuring the carving design for the shell tower and the carving for force (coming out of the shell i think it works ok :) but hopefully you guys will out do me



Gambaro the Neutral Oracle:
this is the progress so far on the grande boss oracle, he guards the shell tower-ether sprite colony and refuses to follow either god, instead lives among the ether sprites and draws his power directly from the plannet's ether core and the sprites.

some pretty unique spells shall be seen here ;)

Next is a new creature i made couple days ago, i realised that sol doesnt have nearly as many creatures as lune..

here is the Ji-Gumo Matriarch!
based off the awesome Ji-Gumo concept by Luke Davis;

the Ji-Gumo is a creature that as it progresses in life, it decays rapidly until the point where the majority of it's skin is missing, its thick bones act as an exo-skeleton of sorts, peserving it's life.

Ji-gumo follow spider and boar-like traits and that is the basis for the Matriarch.
the matriarch is a larger, powerfully built royal strain of Ji-Gumo that is chosen to produce the next brood of offspring, five large bones extruding from it's scalp are used as a nursery crown for baby and unhatched Ji-Gumo brood to live in until they are of age to leave.


it's interlocking tusk teeth, jagged bone structure and huge barbed tusks are there to defend it's nursery crown, behind the J-Gumo's strength and speed, this is a very dangerous creature to face

inside of the Nursery Crown, Ji-Gumo eggs mature in growths seeded from the matriarch's bone marow, absorbing the nutrients directly from their mother's blood supply

story may be subject to change, but thats what the design was.

Updated Oracle Gorasai

Haven't updated in a little while but decided to show what i've done so far, really what i need to do is work on my model in mudbox maybe add armour then finish its texturing and of course rig it.

The Gorasai is a creature similar to a lion or Gorilla having fierce traits in combat from both
- Can charge at its target from a distance on his four feet/claws.
- Its Massive Roar can blow back opponents.
- Can stand on two feet however it does feel difficult for him.
- Rips through enemies with his Jaws.

Josh here. It has hair has hours of work on failed attempts of hair before this one, I will work out the kinks and make it look more natural, just getting the base of the hair laid out so far. Also the body has been unwrapped. Few kinks and some manual editing needed so all should be done by tomorrow. Yay for 1 am post on a Tuesday :D

This is my model so far of my oracle tennin, i had made the hat but it looks ridiculously bad so i got rid of it, so that the last thing to work on then he will be done. Yeah the hat was epic fail i wanted to gouge my eyes out.

Harine Oracle update

Hey guys heres a new update on Harine my oracle














As you can see i finished the base model and im starting to work on it in mudbox. Ill also be unwraping his items and i still need stil need to give him hair(and as i have only a few more poly to play with im starting ti freak about that).
Im hoping that ill have him finished in mudbox so i can start to rig him next week.

Various Updates

Hey all! tis Michelle here

i just have to say the designs are coming along Awesomely!
i have seen some truly great stuff put up, and i am currently compiling the list of designs i wish to be made :) the Cert 4's designs are due this comiming monday, they are accepted late by this wednesday by upload to the blog, but better be quick as the designs get added to the table of creatures in order of time and may fill up.

looking forward to seeing them! :D

here with me are a couple things i was working on, figured i'd post them up :)

A neutral stone golem creature, it has one temple-work arm and the rest is river stones, it is looking pretty kick ass in game :D
i included a clip of some animations :)




Mosquito themed oracle, was going to be an oracle, but looks very night orrientated so some alterations will be made, also she needs to be clothed also.
just something i made back in the start of the project but never posted..




i have some more but they have yet to be textured and rigged;

The infamous Derp
-a neutral creature (colour not yet chosen) that will freature around the game at various points, its name comes from the sound of its call, it harasses the player with loud barking if approached. good for kicking


there is the possibility of a faux-cityscape level being made, if so, this model i made a very long time ago will come in handy, its a pillow-creature that wishes to be human, and acts as such with its stitched on limbs

miiiight use it, if i re-vamp it abit, its pretty ugly
and the city level goes through


The Strider (not named)
a neutral creature also, this looming giant roams wastelands, feeding off streams of tiny arial life forms, simillar to earth's plankton.
as they are very large, they must eat almost constantly to survive
-will be available as an alternative to the shellback, and one bad ass mount if all goes to plan ;)


"Moonlight"
a possible unlockable oracle for completing the Night campaign, Moonlight is an concept that Tanya did one monday class that i took home and modeled :P
she's kinda cute so yeah
